Discovery Darwin , built in 1999, Discovery Nightclub quickly established itself as The Northern Territory’s premier late night entertainment venue. Just over a decade later, Discovery had solidified its iconic position in the Australian nightclub industry. Playing home to some of the biggest bands, DJ’s and touring acts makes the Darwin venue a well known force and leading name in entertainment, both in the country
and world alike. In Late 2011 the venue experienced one of its darkest days and was forced to close its doors. Territorians were left wondering what would happen to this important part of the Darwin night-scene. Those who had frequented Discovery wondered if they had seen
the inside of the venue for the last time, and those too young were left concerned that they would not get to experience this right-of-passage and that the “Disco Days” would become only treasured memories held by the generation before. This uncertain future was put to rest in January 2012 when a fresh team of experienced nightclub operators and investors saw the importance of the venue and began to embark on a plan to renovate and refurbish Discovery, restoring it beyond its former glory whilst
bringing it in line with international nightclub standards. The new era of Discovery Darwin features three separate levels and four individual bars; we have a section for you, whether it be to party the night away on the dance-floor, get your groove on above the action below, or sip cocktails in one of the many private booths.
